RE: Just Thinking

The problem he faces if he squirrels away money now to pay cash later is that inflation will be greater than the ROI on the money he saves and hence, he will be further behind. A very real scenario as witnessed by the last several years. I don’t own any crystal (let alone crystal balls) but I am guessing things are going to get worse before they get better. I would sit tight, there are going to be some super deals coming up. The other side of the coin is your old one will be worth less. But it sounds like it will be on the high side of the bell curve, which is a good position to be in. The long and short of it, the day to buy new is coming, but it’s not today.

RE: All Season Package on 2019 Kodiak Ultralite 201QB

Realistically, you could use to lows of about 30*F. Beyond that it’s probably not going to be suitable (as in to cold to be comfortable over and above frozen water lines, pump, etc).

RE: Progressive RV Insurance requires you to have another car?

Well yes.. I was addressing the Company policy. not the possibility a client would lie and say "yes I have another vehicle" Of course I always had another vehicle.. A very nice Bicycle. (Human powered type). (I also did not have progressive on the RV).I would suggest Fraud is still very much in play and you may be leading the OP astray. Per the OP’s quote in his original post, the question asked about a “motor vehicle”. I doubt a bicycle (even an ebike) meets the laws definition for “motor vehicle” anywhere. For instance, refer to MCLA 257.33 Clicky With your background I would think you know what a motor vehicle is.

RE: Fifth Wheel Tag Renewal

Nobody uses "Trip Permits" in these high fee States???In WA anyone can go to DOT and purchase a 3 day trip permit. It used to be $15, not sure what it costs now. Totally legal to NOT license your RV and buy trip permits. Used to do so when WA had insane tab fees. The OP is not in WA, he’s in CA (what WA does doesn’t necessarily apply anywhere else in the world).

RE: Help! Am i making the right decision

times2 buy the one you like 10k only another $1buck per month.Actually it would be closer to $50 a month for about 20 years (depending on the finance rate).

RE: Who can be the last poster?

I was just wondering if 2 weeks is enough ?

RE: Sleep apnea

Using a CPAP sucks but it's worth it. 2 weeks is nothing. It took me several years and a couple mask changes to get it figured out. My recommendation would be to start using it during your afternoon naps. Figure it out in 1 hour long trials day by day.I quit taking afternoon naps about 65 years ago.

RE: Fifth Wheel Tag Renewal

The best place to get your answer would be to look at the CA Reg’s for license plate/registration fees

RE: CBD oil

I'm one that believes nothing beneficial comes from marijuana. You and I may be the only people who agree on this. The number of Informmercials on FaceBook hawking CBD as a cure to anything and everything under the sun is a pretty good indication that we're probably on the right side of this argument. But then again, you’ve never tried it, so you wouldn’t have any good indication if it helped or not - many people have first hand indications that it does help. I’d say the right side of the argument may be not so clear cut.

RE: I'm curious to know what you would do?

^^^How old is your current one? I’m not wanting you to put yourself in my shoes. I’m wanting to understand how others will view a sudden huge price increase from one year to the next. So I want to know if you were going to be buying a truck now would want to avoid the 2023 on account of the huge price increase or do the upgrades justify the cost in your way of thinking.I guess I’m not qualified to answer your question because even if I was going to buy a “new” truck today, the one I’d buy would be at least 3 or 4 years old ( or as in the case of my current truck - I get a fire sale, moving out of the country tomorrow, smokin hot deal).

RE: I'm curious to know what you would do?

I'd keep the one you have and drive it until it hits 250k miles. My last truck I drove for 20 years and 268k miles. Never any internal engine or trans issues. As long as it stays reliable, I'd rather put the money in a camper, boat, or invest. That's what I was thinking too. :)It wasn’t 1 of the choices but the question was “what would you do”. And that’s exactly what I would do - drive the current one about another 20 years.

RE: New guy!

The same way you did this post except you would probably want to post it under the “Tech Issues” topic.

RE: Problems with electrical converter

Seems pretty straightforward to me. If everything is as you say, sounds like the converter is bad.

RE: Leveling Scissor Jacks

I am not an expert on the matter, but putting a support pillar way out on each end of a beam without knowing just how much load that beam is capable of supporting is a bad idea. Stabilizing and leveling are two way different concepts when it comes to how strong a beam needs to be.

RE: Grand Design 260RD issues after a year off - Help Please!!!

If the gfi will not reset there is obviously a problem with that circuit. A mouse could have chewed a wire, a wire has become crossed in one of the plugs, etc., etc., etc. The list of possibilities is endless. It’s going to take some detective work with a continuity meter, a test light, etc. to find the problem.

RE: Window Problems

Look for rivets in the upper two corners of the frame that attach the upper frame to the two side pieces. All four sides of the frame should be attached to each other, either welded, rivets, etc.

RE: Turning With A Long Bumper Pull Trailer

Just to point out one thing, tow ratings on any truck tested to SAEJ2807 standard (which is pretty much all trucks) are not based upon towing a flatbed trailer. The max trailer weight rating of vehicles is partly determined by testing towing trailers with Frontal areas that are a minimum of 40 sft for 5000 lbs trailers up to 75 sft for very large triaxle trailers. You don’t meet the standard for pulling a 5000 lbs trailer with 40 sft frontal area, you don’t get to rate your truck for that max trailer tow weight rating. Clicky Ford tells you what the max frontal area limitations for their vehicles are See pg 17 Back in 92, I saw a poster in an RV dealership. It had max tow ratings for Ford. F250/350 rigs had a max of 10K lbs at the time, same with GM/Dodge. That assumed you had no more than 80sqft of frontal area. 80.1-100 was lowered to 7500, 100.1-120 was lowered yet again to 5000, over 120 was not recommended to be towed by an F series truck. The Ranger/Aerostar was maxed at 6000 iirc to 60sqft, lowered to 4500 from 60-70, lowered again to 3000 from 70-80, A trailer over 80 sq ft was not recommended being towed by Ford. ALL the manufactures should be showing the effects, lowering of ratings etc if you go over the base weights, frontal area drag components etc. MANY of US are in actuality, over the ratings! MartyI agree, that would be useful information to know.
